Question:
Wasn't this was supposed to be the hottest summer on record in the UK?

For UK people only:-
In April this year (I think it was April?), we had a heatwave for a week. Temperatures in their late 20's and early 30's. We were told by the met office that this year was going to be the hottest summer here on record..... Hmm..... So what went wrong I wonder? So far, temperatures haven't risen above 23°c anywhere and we've had far more rain and cloud than sunshine. Do those guys at the met know what they're talking about or do they just say things that they think we'd like to hear??? Where's our summer gone???

They say that every year these days. Ever since Global Warming has become an issue the weather bureau claims that this summer will be the hottest.

The weather forecast in this country changes by the minute!!!

It is highly irritating. I was discussing the very same thing with my husband at the weekend.

I don't think they know what they are doing at all, every time it gets warm here the met office says its broken all the records when I remember hotter summers than recent 'record breakers' !

Hottest summer on record my ****!

Britain is on the mercy of over 7 diverse climate structures , it purely relies upon which one gets the better hand , in assessment to assert in California the place warm sunny climate is predictable. we are a ways north , situation to arctic impacts do no longer overlook. wager that's the reason Brits and Scandinavians head to the the mediterreanan huh? you're a northener !

You're right. I'd forgotten.

No, they're professionals, of course they don't just say things we'd like to hear. A lot of my friends find the heat debilitating and weren't pleased to hear it anyway.

What it does show how unpredictable the weather really is, long term, no matter how much technology and expertise you bring to bear.

Well thats a joke!

Summer has been none existant, its not fair,is it.

I reckon next yr should be a lot better, boiling i hope.

I was due my first holiday in 6 years but because of rain its had to be cancelled!

Whatever is forecast for the weather, say like they tell us rain i assume it will be dry and vice versa.

Dont wanna depress every1 but this is definately a sign of G.w.

I totally agree with you, where has summer gone?!

Apparently, we're supposed to be having a nice August, but lets just wait and see shall we!

I'm sick of having to put coats and jackets on, and boots and shoes, when it should be the height of summer!!

If the weather forecasters' jobs depended on accuracy, they'd all be sacked, but they don't. I've found that other countries have accurate forecasts, so good that the time of rainfall is often exact!

The hottest summer was last year. This year it is the wettest. Next year will probably be the coldest.

Yes, I heard the same thing...but brrrr..its chilly.

If I remember, this time last year it was absolutely sweltering....I was over visiting my parents in Tenerife and it was actually much hotter in the UK!!!

But ever the optimist....I'm keeping my fingers crossed its on its way lol

I think they should all be sacked and their wages sent to charities. Either they dont know their job or they're just telling lies
