Seems like St. Louis always gets horrible weather in the springtime. I live in Dallas and we rarely have severe weather, but St. Louis on the other hand... how come they always get tornado warnings?

In the Spring, strong cold fronts are still sweeping down from Canada, but now warm, moist Gulf air is being introduced from the south. The abrupt rise of warm, moist air can fuel severe weather, including thunderstorms and tornadoes. Another factor for tornadoes is the proximity of the jet stream which creates large-scale wind shear. These factors just happen to come together in the Midwest more than anywhere else in the world.

The reason why St.louis experience a lot of severe weather events is because they are located in tornado valley. Tornado valley is the area where tornadoes or severe thunderstorms will most likely and most commonly take place.
