I REALLY NEED TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO DETERMINE THE WEATHER! Precisely wind speed..

Tomorrow calls for wind " W @ 20 mph " is that windy or not really or Very windy and what does the W stand for??

Does anybody know the general scale for mph of wind NOT MPS!

Like how windy is a 5 mph to 30? Thanks~!

The W means "West", it is the direction the wind is coming from. N E S W are north, east, south, west etc; NE SW are northeast, southwest; NNE ESE SSW are north northeast, east southeast, south southwest etc.

The Beaufort scale as given above describes the wind speed. Together, wind speed and wind direction are the wind velocity. W @ 20km/h is a wind velocity, 20km/h is a wind speed.

As you can see, 20 mph wind is not very windy.
