The degree in temparature has nothing to do with whether you will tan or not. It is the exposure to UV rays that causes the pigmentation in your skin to darken (or redden in some cases).

When the weather is overcast, it is a very dangerous time to sunbathe, as it fools people into thinking that the sun won't burn because it is cooler, and they don't feel it as much. The clouds don't filter out the UV rays very well, so you end up with sun overexposure fairly easily.

Temperature and wind speed has nothing to do with your ability to get a nice tan. It depends on the ultraviolet index (intensity of the sun) and the angle of insolation (INcoming SOLar radiATION) or the angle of the sun. I guess you can get a nice tan this time of year. The sun is at a good angle but you should check the UV index. if it's between a 1 to4, I wouldn't bother. But if it's about a 5 or 6 you can get a nice tan. anything more than a 6 you can get a good tan. the best time of year to get a tan in the Northern Hemisphere is June 21 at 12:00pm or December 21 at 12:00pm in the Southern Hemisphere. Because at those times the sun is at it's highest angle of insolation.

You get a tan from the UV rays, not the warmth. So, yes, you can get a tan, though you probably won't want to be outside in those conditions long enough to MUCH of a tan.

You sure can. You can even get sunburned in the wintertime if the sky is clear enough. Tanning is a function of UV rays from the sun on your skin and has nothing to do with ambient temperature.

depending on where you are yes. When I was in Fl on vacation I got tan on a warmer cloudy day. They rays go through the clouds.

yes as long as the sun is out, the rays will come through the clouds, on these days you are more likley to burn then on sunny days with no clouds in the sky because you wont feel like you are getting a sunburn, you will be kept cool by the breeze and the low temps..example...skiers get sunburnt all the time...hope this helps

I used to years ago. Try to find a box that a refrigerator came shipped in. Line it with aluminum foil. When you lay in it, the sides block any wind, and the foil reflects the sunlight for a great tan.
